Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 4, 2018 Author #407 Share Posted October 4, 2018 Arrived Kochi, Japan at 8:00 this morning. The city of Kochi provided a free shuttle from the port to town which is about 25 minutes journey. The weather has been rainy with heavy rain at times. They have a central shopping district which is covered and protected from the rain. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sent from my iPad using Forums Each cruise is an adventure. We didn't get to visit Kobe last time as we were in Kyoto for the full day so we will work on seeing Kobe this time. Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 5, 2018 Author #415 Share Posted October 5, 2018 Wow, this Japan portion of your cruise sure has been an adventure! How’s the mood onboard? I'm starting to fell like it's "Groundhog Day". Most of the passengers are upbeat but have heard a number that were upset with the changes. I heard one lady screaming at the Customer Service Agent blaming the Captain for ruining her cruise. OH well.. I just cancelled my tour in Busan as my guide will not be available on the new arrival date. Toursbylocals has been good and issuing full refund. BCJO Posted October 5, 2018 #416 Share Posted October 5, 2018 Sounds like you're staying positive, unlike some of your fellow cruisers! Hope you get to see Kobe.

The mood has been surprisingly good, considering that the shops and the casino have been closed during this entire Japan section. There are very few activities, nothing new has been added to keep people occupied. After our second stop in Kobe, today, we are headed for two days at sea. capsplace Posted October 5, 2018 #418 Share Posted October 5, 2018 Blaming the captain for ruining their cruise? Good grief. Just like cruising during Hurricane season in Florida and the Caribbean. You never know, so just go with the flow. Didn’t Jimmy Buffett say something like “there’s no rhyme or reason for hurricane season”?

Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 5, 2018 Author #421 Share Posted October 5, 2018 (edited) One is f the reasons we came back to Kobe after Hiroshima was cancelled is we had to have a port with immigration before leaving Japan for Korea. Captain Alex indicated he would update us on modifications to the remainder of cruise this evening. New clearance process.
