Southern Caribbean ports - which to avoid?

We would love to do the same!

 

One question, how did you find the road condition and driving condition? Did you purchase car insurance? I am always a little scared of driving in ports.

 

The road condition was excellent. The main roads were well paved. The side roads leading to the beach bars/restaurants were packed dirt/sand, so there were no problems.

 

I did purchase the insurance. All in all....rental car fee + insurance + the mandatory $25 local drivers license came to about $100 for the day for a compact Toyota Yaris.
