Snorkeling from the beach

The beaches along the malecon do not as a rule offer good snorkeling. Best beach snorkeling is via a ship excursion to Uvero Beach, up north of the port. Not accessible without a ship excursion.

However, there has been okay snorkeling along the beach at Blue kay which is on the northern end of the malecon just past the light house. You can get there via a taxi outside the cruiseport. Blue Kay has a separate entrance and is not serviced by the tram from the port. If you take the tram, get off at the first stop (Tequila Beach) and head north along the malecon. There may be another beachclub between Tequila Beach and Blue Kay where the old Sr. Frogs used to be, but I don't know if plans to open a new place have materialized. Check out Blue Kay's website for information.
