nucleon Posted September 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Hi! Booking the March 2019 Cuba cruise on the Voyager. My room choice comes down to 1001, next to the bridge, or 1014, under the pool bar. Which would you choose? Thanks!!
rcandkc Posted September 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I would not personally book under pool bar. Scraping of chairs, etc.... I have no idea being beside the bridge would be. Do know when anchor drops you will hear it.
rcandkc Posted September 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I think there are cabins for bridge officers between bridge and passengers. Seems like that would be a good buffer.
papaflamingo Posted September 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Being a newbie to Regent, I have no experience with Regent ships. However I am a veteran of over 30 cruises. I'd always shy away from under any pool deck if possible (not always possible). I have also done a number of Bridge Tours on other ships, and was career Coast Guard (although a pilot, but with limited time on ships). In my experience a Ship's Bridge is very quiet and professional. I would have no problem being next to the Bridge if noise was my concern. IMHO, if you hear a lot of yelling and confusion on the Bridge, don your lifevest because it can't mean anything good. :)
tripperva Posted September 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2018 The only issue with being all the way forward is if you have rough seas. All the way forward and uppermost decks have the most motion. Just a thought.
Travelcat2 Posted September 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Agree about feeling the motion of the ocean more in forward suites (especially on upper decks), however, 1001 is not really as forward as on other decks since the bridge I there. While we would never book a suite under the pool deck on Voyager again, we would book a suite next to (but not under) the bridge. I cannot imagine the Captain, Staff Captain and other bridge crew being noisy but I could be wrong.
vlinbin Posted September 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2018 We had a PH suite near the bridge on our first Regent cruise (on the Mariner). It was a pleasant and quiet location.
