drneal Posted October 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2018 I’m going on the Mariner ots and I wanted to know the difference between the ultimate flowrider 1 hour for $550 vs the private flowrider also 1 hour but $345 ? Also what about the $69 group lesson. How many people in a group ? Is there an age limit ?
happilyafterever Posted October 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 2, 2018 Ultimate flow rider includes instruction from staff, private flow rider does not. I believe the group lessons can have up to 8 people. Not sure about an age limit, I think they just go by the Flowrider’s height limit.
Ourusualbeach Posted October 2, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2018 Agree with the above. 13 and under must have a parent or guardian there watching.
smplybcause Posted October 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2018 Is the group lesson up to 8 people for an hour or is it longer? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

drneal Posted October 2, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted October 2, 2018 Thanks all. It looks like I can get a group lesson for 3 of us and the private flow rider for the cost of the private one hour.
Sitzmark Posted October 2, 2018 #7 Share Posted October 2, 2018 We did the group lesson for our son and he enjoyed it. If you are inexperienced on the flowrider, it will take a lot of energy, the group lesson by it's nature has breaks, you might find yourself exhausted at the end of a one hour private lesson unless you are pretty athletic. mil76 Posted October 2, 2018 #8 Share Posted October 2, 2018 I'd do lessons and a private rather than the ultimate. That way you can do the lessons as early in the cruise as possible, then do open sessions to get better (and practice starting yourself), then do the private hour at the end of the cruise. If you can get the hour after it closes on the last day even better. That way you are not wasting time having the staff load you onto the wave and showing you what to do, and you are spending the time riding instead. 3 people is perfect for a private hour as you will get a bit of a break between rides, but you will get a workout for the hour. When we do private sessions we use it as an opportunity to take turns trying new tricks in rapid succession, since you don't have the huge queue between your rides. drneal Posted October 2, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted October 2, 2018 It appears there is no availability for the private. The have lessons available at 7:30 pm towards the end of the trip. Do spots open up ? I remember on a previous cruise that they had an adult only session. Do they still do this?
