RFerrington Posted November 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2018 Yes, you can use OBC for any purchase or service on the ship...but in the casino, if you are not at least a Prime level member of Club Royale, you would pay a 5% "convenience fee" to get money from your Seapass account to use in the casino. Since Royal Caribbean uses only cash in the casino (not like Carnival where you can get money on your shipboard account directly from a slot machine) then you must have cash to play in the casino. Thank you! So frustrating when their own employees don’t even know the answer. One told me no and one told me if I use the OBC or cash I am charged 5% but if I use my stateroom account I would not be charged the 5%. So the reality is to avoid the 5%, I need to bring cash to use in the casino as if I were on any land casino?
katiel53 Posted November 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2018 Yes, to avoid the 5%, bring cash. I have also read, but I have not tried it, if you use cash for your SeaPass account, you don't pay the 5% if you use some of that money for the casino. That also has to be done through the casino cashier.
