pathi Posted November 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2018 (edited) Hello, I am sailing on a 3 day California Coastal in May next year, Once we debark in Vancouver we are boarding the Island Princess for Alaska the same day we arrive. Is there anything special that Canadian Customs/Immigration does in this situation? We are US citizens. IE entry and exit stamps on our passports? Rare mom says Posted November 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2018 ???? Where are you disembarking your first cruise and where are you embarking your second cruise? What island are you referring to? And are you really asking about Customs or are you asking for information about Immigration/Border passport control? Rare mom says Posted November 9, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2018 AFAIK, neither Canada or the US require exit stamps for your passport. You'll go thru Canadian Immigration and Customs when you disembark from your first cruise. That should be your only contact with CBSA.
Heidi13 Posted November 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 10, 2018 On disembarking you will go through Canada Immigration/Customs. It is highly unlikely you will get your passport stamped. No Visa, ESTA, photographs or finger prints required. When boarding, after the passenger screening you will go through US Immigration before getting aboard the ship. cruising cockroach Posted November 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 10, 2018 You're sort of in-transit but I'm not sure if actually getting off the ship is required in Vancouver (never done it) unless you want to go onshore. Hopefully the next cruise does not end in Whittier otherwise you won't be allowed to board.
zqvol Posted November 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 10, 2018 I hope that your second cruise is round trip Vancouver. If not you may find that you are not allowed to take this voyage because it is a violation of the PVSA.
boulders Posted November 10, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 10, 2018 Looking at the OP's signature, they're on 2 different ships, so it shouldn't be a PVSA problem. I agree with the others though, don't expect exit or entry stamps on the passports.
