Chania Crete

We are docking at Chania Crete 12pm-10pm in the end of May, and are looking for things to do. Planning on walking around the old town and then... Would love to go see an olive farm/factory with tastings and such.  Where should we go, how do we get there, tour suggestions? We are good with DIY, just need some direction.  Any suggestions?

Reverse the order and first Take the local bus to Maleme and see the German war cemetery,  or to Souda and see the allied cemetery and the beach from Zorba the Greek.   Wander the town later and enjoy dinner on the waterfront.

We were in Chania for 3 nights in October.  As we had a car, we did our own Olive Oil Tour here:

and loved it.  You'd either need a driver or a car, it's in the country.  What's the ship offering as far as olive oil tours?

Do you know how far it was to the factory? Maybe we can hire a driver...  We would also love to go to a beach. Any thoughts on that? Thanks!

I want to say about 45 mins.  There was a tour group there of about 6 with us.  You could try and e:mail Biolea to see if they know of any drivers.  The views from there were stunning.

We will be in Chania in June on the Greek Mystique cruise on the Celebration. 

Looking online, it appears that the cruise ships dock in Souda, which is about 6km from Chania. There are local buses specifically for cruise passengers at 3 Euros return with a journey time of about 15 min. Not sure how current this information is.

Can anyone confirm this?
