TGBoss Posted November 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2018 We went to Piran on our own, using public bus from Koper. Piran is a beautiful seaside town, a Venetian settlement. Very easy to do on your own.
edinburgher Posted November 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2018 Depends on your interests and shorex/private tour options. The town itself is tiny. Lots of info already on the boards and using SEARCH with KOPER brings up many previous posts. Lots of info, suggestions and directions here to get you started. Maybe something will appeal: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2554560-koper-to-piran-day-trip/?tab=comments#comment-55063828 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2364375-koper/?tab=comments#comment-50880252 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/1776832-koperpiranportoroz-slovenia-diy/?tab=comments#comment-37269987
marylizcat Posted November 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2018 We did the ‘hop on hop off’ bus tour with Istranka http://www.istranka.si/en/shore-excursions-koper/english-hop-on-hop-off/. It isn’t really a hoho in the normal sense, really it is a mini-tour. However we really enjoyed it and can recommend it. We booked in advance which saved some money and guaranteed a time slot, but you can just turn up and book on the day. They have a kiosk on the dockside.
