LHC1962 Posted November 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2018 (edited) Hello. I have returned from a cruise with an item that does not belong to me. It was found in the safe on the last morning as we were leaving, - I thought it was cheap tat but now realise it isn’t! I now regret not taking the time to hand it in to guest services or leave it with the stateroom attendant. I would very much like to return the item to its rightful owner. I have spoken to someone at Royal Caribbean who cannot tell me if anyone has reported it missing. There does not appear to be a lost and found thread on cruise critic. What would you do? I know I’m going to get flamed for this but I genuinely do want to do the right thing. Possibly too late. thanks Edited November 15, 2018 by LHC1962
Rare MicCanberra Posted November 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2018 Perhaps see if there was a roll call either on CC or other social media sites?
Bloodgem Posted November 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2018 Hi, I would do a search for threads on CC containing the name of the ship; the item (i.e necklace) and the word lost. I would run the search 2 or 3 times over the 2 months.
Rare MicCanberra Posted November 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2018 Don't give away too much info on the object and that way you will know who the owner is by their description of what was lost.
LHC1962 Posted November 21, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted November 21, 2018 Thank you all. My searches have revealed nothing so I will list a found item in a thread on Navigator, cabin number and no more info and see what happens. Thanks all

Reina del Mar Posted January 1, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 1, 2019 If you have still not managed to locate the owner of the item you found, it may be prudent to speak to Royal Caribbean directly and forward the item to them. Many people do not use Facebook, Instagram, Roll calls or even Cruise Critic forums ! I am sure if I had misplaced something on a ship, I would be contacting the cruiseline and not asking on social media.
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 6, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 6, 2019 I think at this stage there is not much more that they could do than contact royal.
S-and-J Posted October 27, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 27, 2019 There was a small spectacles case - with prescription glasses therein - stuck behind the hair dryer shelf in the bedside chest of drawers on our last cruise. My wife took it to Reception and they said they would contact all the previous occupants of that cabin to determine the owner. Simples.
