Jane T Posted November 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2018 We are currently booked to do a snorkeling excursion on December 12 while in Cabo San Lucas. The excursion starts at 9 am and last 3 1/2 hours. Looking into the water temperatures and air temperatures, I am rethinking our decision. Can anyone tell me if they have snorkeled in Cabo in mid-December and how chilly it is? We like to snorkel, but morning temperatures of both the air and water make me want to just lay on a beach instead. Thoughts?
CruiserBruce Posted November 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2018 The snorkeling in the Mexican Rivera isn't all that great anyway...I would pass.
riffatsea Posted November 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2018 I like snorkeling but prefer warm water in the Caribbean or farther south in Mexico. For me water temps of 71 is not warm enough but you may feel differently.
Zbayette Posted January 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2019 A few years ago, we were in Cabo in early June with the intentions of going snorkeling. My husband went first and said it was absolutely freezing and told me not to bother. Now we are going in January and think it will be even colder. We have been told the Pacific side is really cold but if you go in the Sea of Cortez, it is not as cold or rough and better for snorkeling.
