Excursions in Puerto Vallarta

Hello.  Looking for recomendations on Puerto Vallarta & Mazatlan excursions on the NCL Bliss.  How far out should these be booked?  We are family with children ages 8, 10 & 12

As for Puerto Vallarta. Whale watching might be fun if you are going in winter. We have never seen one around halloween when we normally go to PV so make sure when the whales are around. Zip lining at Los Veranos is best I've ever done, much better than El Edan. Maybe not good for eight year old. A boat ride to Yalapa is fun.

 

If you have never been to PV just walking the Malecon and and Romantic Zone is fun and no excursion needed. Many people think that  that PV has the second best restaurant scene in Mexico, behind only Mexico city. Just avoid Bubba Gumps ect. The crafts market is also good.

We love and highly recommend the Las Caletas excursion and have taken it twice.  We recommended it to friends who took it last summer and also loved it.

 

We had planned to take it again on our upcoming Mexico cruise but sadly the ship doesn't arrive in port early enough.

Here's another vote for Las Caletas Hideaway. We took it several years ago and til this day remember it as one of most favorite excursions (and we've been on many via 30 plus cruises). Terrific AMAZING food, friendly service, free drinks flowing, beautiful HEAVENLY scenery and funny entertainment on the boat ride back. I would do it again when I get back to PV and recommend it to everyone.

oops...just read children with OP....not so sure it's a kids' thing as they might get bored especially if they're ones that like waterparks, lots of activities, and are super active....

Whale watching would depend on when you go for it to be worth it. Here are some choices we love: 

 

1- Mazatlan: King David Tours to Stone Island

2- Puerto Vallarta: Yellapa Tour is beautiful and so is Las Caletas Hideaway

 

Book early, all these tours fill up quickly.
