Kiwi_cruiser Posted December 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2018 We have never been to Pisco (san Martin), Peru before. I was wondering would you recommend doing here for the day?? If you have been to Pisco (san Martin) before, what did you do there for the day?? Also does the cruise ships dock near the town? or do we dock a long way from it? Any ideas / suggestions are very welcome :)
Rare uktog Posted December 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2018 The cruise ship docks in an industrial area (desert) - just been there. Azamara ran free shuttles to town, there were mixed reviews about it. We did a ships tour to the Balletas Islands - I would thoroughly recommend doing that either through the ship or independently - though you would need to get to town to do that on your own. Its a no landing tour but we saw thousands of birds, little penguins, sea lionise was great. It is an open boat we had a lovely day. Those who just went to town did not fare so well, not a lot to do and the beaches are owned by the hotels
joybook Posted December 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2018 In 2014 we did LA to Rio on a Princess cruise and stopped at Pisco. Pisco is about 22 miles from St Martin. We did a ship tour to Tambo Colorado which was well worth it. Not only were the ruins interesting, we went through some interesting villages on the way there and back. bunnyette Posted December 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2018 If you are adventurous you can do a Flight over the Nazca lines. It was one of the highlights of our cruise. We booked independently through http://www.nazcaflights.com/. We gathered a group from our roll call.
