Clearing customs at Vancouver, Canada

The Princess cruise arrives at 7;30am. 

 

My friend has a domestic flight from Vancouver. The cruise line says she needs 5 hours between arrival time and flight. But She only has to be at the airport 1 hour before. 

 

Should my friend change her flights?

What time are her flights?  You do not mention that.

For a domestic flight I'd be comfortable booking a flight at 10am or later if your friend is capable of self-disembarking - we always do and my wife has been back in her office or at breakfast meetings by 8am including the ~10min walk from the pier after every cruise. A cab (or SkyTrain) to the airport is ~30mins, so the first few batches of folks off the ship can easily make it to YVR before 9am. If your friend needs help with baggage though, customs and cab queues will be longer with all the prior self-dsiembarkers and SkyTrain would not be possible so I'd slide the flight to at least 11am.
