Smokey596 Posted January 10, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2019 I'm trying to check my friend and I in online for a cruise on the Sky to/from Miami to the Bahamas. For proof of citizenship, she should be able to use a passport card, right? But it's not an option during check in...unless I should enter it under "passport". But we want to be sure there won't be a problem if she just has a passport card. Another section of the NCL site mentions the passport card for leaving/returning to a US port, however in another place it mentions a passport but not a card. Are they just using the term passport to include the card as well?
shadowmeboy Posted January 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2019 A passport card is a WHTI compliant document for land and sea border crossings. Just enter it under the passport line. We had friends sail on an enhanced ID and they put it under the passport line and did fine.
casofilia Posted January 10, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2019 I would never go to any foreign country without a full passport, just in case!!
Smokey596 Posted January 10, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted January 10, 2019 Thank you both! We entered the passport card and it worked fine. I also warned my friend about the possibility of not being able to get back if something happens and she does not have a passport.
