safer Posted January 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2019 We’re considering booking on Deck Two, an ocean view cabin. Is it better to be in the front of the ship or the very back of the ship on Deck Two? Thanks!
jsglow Posted January 11, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2019 It totally depends. Are you most likely to enjoy Serenity or the Water Park? We're fans of cabins more forward but it really doesn't matter that much.
Eliot Ness Posted January 11, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2019 We prefer the aft because we like to watch and hear the wake of the ship, plus we're closer to the Lido deck. We're booked in a deck 2 corner aft on our upcoming Sunshine cruise. We've pretty much always been mid-ship or aft so being forward might have some benefits I'm not aware of. In-any-case, any cabin on a cruise beats being at work!
A&Jfamily Posted January 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2019 Like the first poster said, look around the ship and see where you are most likely to spend your time. For us, on Subshine it is a Aft where the alchemy bar and comedy club. If you think show lounge, lobby bar and serenity, then forward elevators are closest. thehappierhomemaker Posted January 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2019 Our last cruise was at the very front on deck two and there was a LOT of movement, I would not book there again. We are going on the Sunshine again in April and were about to book towards midship on two and realized the galley was just above which is super loud and open 24/7 so be aware of that too when you are looking at rooms! v3cruiser Posted January 12, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2019 Front has more movement but the back will have vibration from prop cavitation at cruising speeds and also have some movement. Explore the floor plans! Smoothest location is midship for sure .
Cruisefriends Posted January 15, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2019 We are booked for the sunshine in March ....Spa deck 11. Hope this is a good location. BoDidly Posted January 15, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 15, 2019 Midship will be the better choice of cabin.
K_e_short Posted January 15, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2019 We stayed in an ocean view on Deck 2. I found the noise/banging/whatever from the water hitting the hull to be very annoying. If I was picking again I'd pick a room as close to the elevators as possible since we spent a lot of time walking up and down the hall to get to the elevator and then up to where we wanted to go. tmg698 Posted January 15, 2019 #10 Share Posted January 15, 2019 On Sunshine in 2018 we had a scenic OV in the very front on Lido it had a lot of motion so going on Sunshine again in April we are trying Aft Deck 5 this time. I hope it was a good choice.
