Just looking at booking the Regal what are your thoughts would our 7 year old enjoy it.

We are going on the Regal for the first time in February 

you might like the Regal but your 7 year old would like Disney better

Yes I now i just find disney so over priced we have sailed many time with princess and love it just not much with our son with us

The regal is a great ship. With that said, the amount of kids ranges drastically based on the time of year. If you’re cruising with your 7 year old during non-peak times, the amount of kids will be very limited so he/she might not have too many kids to socialize with.

I would say that this would be a great time to spend some real quality time with your 7 hear old son.  Show him maps of where he lives and where he will be going and then take him off the ship at ports and help him learn about the lives of those that live there and how the area is different from where he lives.  Also, the children's area on the ship is great and your child will be very safe there and have such a good time with others.  Children need to be freed from TV and all the tech gadgets they have at home and look around  and learn about this wonderful world.  Also, all the hype on others cruise lines who have slides, walls and other circus like attractions...they can do this at home, probably within driving distance from their home.  You are taking them to other countries on a cruise...make the most of that.

There is a Kid's Club. It has been reported that it can be great fun or not so much, depending on the crew running it. It would give you a bit of grown-up time though. If it is about your son, I have heard that NCL has amazing kids clubs and is certainly way below the Disney price point.

I wish I could have started cruising when I was that age.  Am trying to make up for it now.

My grandson was 8 when he cruised with us.  We did a lot at the sports court and watched the movies and such.  There is a kids club also which he did not go to.  He had fun.
