  1. It all comes down to the bottom dollar. From an article in the South Florida Business Journal: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is familiar to chartering cruise ships for temporary housing. FEMA chartered Carnival's cruise ships during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and in 2017. In 2017, FEMA paid Carnival a total $74.7 million for the use of the ships, according to a 2017 report. "If needed, cruise ships are capable of being quickly provisioned to serve as hospitals with up to 1,000 hospital rooms that can treat patients suffering from less critical, non-COVID-19 conditions," the company said in a statement.
  2. According to news reports, many doctors are refusing to sign any letter due to legal issues. Also, they have said that their insurance companies are recommending against this. Also, personally, I would never cruise with a company that would discriminate against seniors or those with disabilities in this manner.
  3. In chrome, go into settings and clear your cache. After I did this all is fine.
  4. Check with the porters who take your luggage. At some ports the porters will have a list of passengers and can provide you with your cabin number.
  5. I believe that the posting of Caribbean Princess on the 29th is a typing mistake and that should read Carnival Magic.
  6. I believe the blackjack table minimums are now $6 and $10. Unlike land based 3 to 2 payout, I believe the payout is 6 to 5.
  7. When you tender into Juneau, where do the tenders dock?
  8. If you look at the Princess website, you will find that the Star will have MedallionNet WiFi (note, not Medallion Class) available beginning 12 June 2020. This drydock will undoubtedly consist of getting ready for this.
  9. Our TA is fabulous and sends us a periodical newsletter where she talks of all cruise sales and breaks down present ongoing sales. In this newsletter she also announces when she will have the special Princess weeklong sales (reduced deposits along with coupon book) throughout the year.
  10. One thing to remember is that if you get Casino Credit and are sailing on a back to back cruise, they will insist that you cash out all credit before the end of your first cruise. This is pretty screwy since I booked as a straight 14 day cruise (not a b2b), but was still hunted down and told I must cash all vouchers before the end of the first 7 day cruise.
  11. I believe the 3 hour tour is a round trip tour,
  12. These bands are also from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072F4MB97/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I like these bands because they have a strap closure just like a watch and the medallion is easy to snap in and out when needed.
  13. I have easily stored all of our suitcases under the beds on ll cruises. I especially like being able to use them as dirty laundry storage while on the ship.
  14. European plug adapters at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=european+plug+adaptors&ref=cs_500_search
  15. Returned last month from a b2b on the Sky. Men in shorts and some even with a t-shirt were allowed in for dinner and I never saw anyone turned away. My wife is handicapped and we sat at one of the front tables for 2 each night and saw the incoming passengers each night.
