5 in OK Posted January 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2019 Hello!! We have always done Nachi but were a bit disappointed the last time we were there. So - we were going to see if we could find a reputable private snorkeling tour for 3-5 hours on the day we were in Cozumel (Carnival Dream). Any suggestions out there? There are literally fifty on the web. Tried Tripadvisor - narrowed it down a bit but really just need a word-of-mouth suggestion from someone who has done the private. Trying to keep it around $500-600.
JohninDC Posted January 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2019 Howdy from a transplanted Okie (Major county, west of Enid). We used Eagle Ray a few years ago and were happy. Not as good as a boat tour to the reef, but snorkeling from the shore at the Money Bar is pretty good - no admission fee and great facilities. lifes-a-beach Posted January 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2019 A couple of years ago we used Mystic Snorkel and were very satisfied. When we were done snorkeling we had them drop us at Paradise Beach for the afternoon. It was a good day. http://www.mysticsnorkel.com/
LakeWobegon Posted January 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2019 How many people? Try Cozumel Cruise Excursions. We used them last year and loved their snorkeling trip to El Cielo. Small boats and so you might be able to buy a boat out for that price for an excursion.

Always good to meet a fellow Okie! Thank you for the tips!
ABQrobin Posted January 22, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2019 Here's the deal with snorkeling in Cozumel.... you are very limited where to go. Cozumel has amazing reefs, but for diving. The beautiful reefs are all DEEP and out away from the shore about a mile. There are only a few shallow reefs up close to shore and most of those are just south of the cruise port Puerta Maya. ALL the snorkeling excursions go to the same places. All of them, because that is all they have. Paradise reef is a shallow reef directly south of that ship pier, then their is Dzul Ha reef in front of Money Bar. South of that a little ways is Chankanaab reef and Cardona reef. That's it. There is also Colombia Shallows reef which is the far south end on the island, and expensive to get there as it is so far away. Most snorkeling is going to take you to the first two I mentioned, they are the shallowest and closest to port. Columbia is fantastic but it will cost more to go there and at least an hour boat ride each way for that reason. 1
