mcclane Posted January 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2019 We will be spending a couple of days prior to our cruise in Barcelona, and have visited there previously. We are interested in ideas for day trips or 1-2 night trips from Barcelona, please. Thank you!
Rare mskaufman Posted January 22, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2019 Not sure where you have been before. An easy train ride from Barcelona is Girona. Also, if you have not been to Montserrat, that is an option.
matamanoa Posted January 22, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2019 We used Spanish Trails for a day tour of the Costa Brava and Girona. Wonderful experience!
Rare QuattroRomeo Posted January 23, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2019 If you like the artist Salvador Dali, you would enjoy a tour to Figueres to see his museum, and his house in Cadaques. We did a tour a few years ago through Viator; there are others that offer it too. More recently, we took the train ourselves from Barcelona to Figueres and walked to the museum for another visit. It is quite unique! Figueres itself is a beautiful town to walk through.

Rare Hlitner Posted January 24, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2019 Montserrat is certainly one of the most popular day trips (you can do this on the train or with a tour). If you would prefer a beach day, there is the seaside town of Sitges which is certainly a lively resort town that is also very LGBTQ friendly. Sitges is easily accessed by train from Barcelona and is walkable from the train station. Hank
