Tendering in Fuerte Amador (Panama City)

My wife and I will be aboard the Coral Princess for a 7:00am -to- 6:00pm port stop at Fuerte Amador.  We will be getting off the ship there to meet someone in downtown Panama City.

Does anyone have recent experience at this port?  How long can we expect to wait on board before we can get a tender to the shore?  Will there be taxis available near where the tenders dock?

Tendering at this stop is usually on the slower side, but there will be taxis once you reach shore.  Hard to give an estimate in wait time,  normally just the tenders on the ship are used and they don't hold as many passengers as many shore based tenders.  Since you are in the Pacific anchorage there is also no way to predict the sea conditions and if it is a little choppy that may add to the tendering time.

Tendering to get to shore takes a while as folks with ship excursions go first.

I must say that getting BACK to the ship was the slowest I have ever experienced in the afternoon!

There were people back from their excursions waiting on shore for close to an hour to get a tender back to the ship! We complained that they were only using one tender going back and forth and were told it had to do with the weather/waves etc. Many of the staff who were ashore were late getting back onto the ship.

That was the only bad experience of our whole December cruise on the Coral.
