Junkanoo vs. Cabbage

We have to do a frugal day in Nassau in a couple of weeks, so no resort day passes or excursions for us. Is Junkanoo or Cabbage better? Both have mixed reviews here and on TripAdvisor. I’m not too worried about the rough waves since we’re used to NJ beaches, but the lack of bathrooms is a pain. Also, will the water be too cold? Vendors don’t bother us. We’re not big drinkers- just want a place to relax, enjoy the sun and view and let the kids swim.

I’ve been to both, cabbage is stunning, Junkanoo is meh. Sometimes the surf at cabbage is too rough to swim, but the last time we were there it was perfect. We always had day passes, but I’ve seen reports of some establishments allowing restroom use I think.
