Kruisn'Kay Posted February 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2019 Hello! We are interested in touring anyone of the forts. Are any of them walkable from the ship? Thank you!
Rare crewsweeper Posted February 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2019 They are walkable, depending on what you consider walkable. The nearest fort, Castillo San Cristobal, is about a 1/2 kilometer from the cruise piers and while up hill, only the last 50 meters or so are really steep. From there it's about another kilometer to El Morro. But walking along the street has great views of the entire area. I've walked this in the past wearing a knee brace and a foot boot with no problems. There's also a free trolley you can catch at the piers (crowded) or at San Cristobal (less crowded) if needed.
Rare FionaMG Posted February 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2019 Agree with crewsweeper as far as the actual walking is concerned. We walked to and from El Morro, just took it nice and easy, and really enjoyed both the walk and the fort.
Kruisn'Kay Posted June 11, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted June 11, 2019 Thank you! We were able to walk to both. It was hot and humid but a wonderful experience!
