30scruiser Posted February 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2019 While waiting to get off ... -There were issues with the pools which seem to be resolved now. At one point the 2 pools that allow kids were both closed, although the hot tubs and slides were working. They gave us each $200 on board credit for the inconvenience. I think we got a pretty good deal, although I’m sure some of the many people with kids on the cruise felt differently. -The bigger inconvenience was embarking and leaving late. We didn’t get on until 6pm or so and the ship didn’t move until about midnight the first day although we made up time and had all our ports on time. -The retractable roof is now fixed and was fully closed coming back from Freeport. -Serenity didn’t open until the 3rd day because they were still retiling the pool. Not sure what it looked like before but it’s beautiful now. -Service and food were both amazing throughout. -Steakhouse was busy with everyone using their credits but was incredible. -Library and chapel are gone. Replaced with large arcade. -All new carpets everywhere. The ship had a major new carpet smell when we got on. -Cove craft area in forward 4 was used a couple of times for free Michael’s craft acvtivities. People who can’t do the stairs will need to call someone to operate the chair lift. The room was open but no craft supplies available when there was not a specific craft activity. Let me know if you have questions.

We always loved keeping them open for the fresh air. Oh well, at least we won't be at work. 🙂 We had to change room, my wife broke ankle last week and will limited mobility for a while. Room 4207 for us now

Just new carpet as far as I could tell, but I had not been on the Pride prior to the dry dock so I don’t know for sure. No new outlets or USB ports or anything. sanmarcosman Posted February 26, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2019 Does the crafts room replace the previous location of the arcade? Thank you

(Wasn’t on the ship before) It’s in the front of the ship on deck 4 but only accessible through Sunset Gardens on deck 3 if that helps.
Bluemoon319 Posted February 26, 2019 #8 Share Posted February 26, 2019 I think it's disgusting that they got rid of the chapel in exchange for an arcade.

I heard people who got married on the ship used the comedy club. Definitely not the same. I also really missed having a dedicated library. They had a couple of shelves of books in the game room but it wasn’t a place you could really sit and read.

I really liked the chapel, it was beautiful. But it was really unusable for anything more than quiet reflection. My husband and I were married on the Pride, but we could not use the chapel because it could only seat 35 guests. I'm not sure if services were ever held there, on our wedding cruise they were not. Herbaltees Posted February 27, 2019 #11 Share Posted February 27, 2019 What is the cove craft area? Is this a new program being rolled out fleet wide? Sound interesting.

Sound interesting. The Michael’s partnership is fleet wide so I think the craft activities will be the same on each ship but I don’t know if they are all getting a dedicated craft room. I didn’t go to any but someone told me they had kits for each project they would give out like make a Mardi Gras mask or picture frame. They were open to kids and adults. i think the idea is that people could use the room for scrapbooking or other projects when there isn’t a craft session, but I don’t know if that really happened.

Beside the teen club.

When I peeked in the Chapel there were several ladies singing there (not sure if worship or just practice for Karaoke). No quiet reflection at that time 😉

I think it's awesome. For one, it will get more use now. And secondly, the adults have a casino, so the kids deserve a game space that is closer to the action. The chapel sits empty and is unnecessary.

My wedding was small only 50 guests and we could not fit in the chapel.
