Venice: Ship to Train Station

Our cruise in May ends in Venice with an overnight.  We plan to take the train to Milan.  What are the logistics of transfering from the ship/cruise terminal to the train station?  Is it walkable with 1 piece of luggage per person?

Thanking you in advance,

Katie

You can walk from the port terminal to the people mover that goes to Piazzale Roma, then cross the large pedestrian bridge and you are at the train station. Another option we have done is to take a taxi to the train station in Mestre and board the train there. A bit more expensive, but worth it IMO if you have a lot of luggage.

If you are staying overnight you will probably use the people mover to get to Piazzale Roma. You can see the large bridge and train station from there. You can then decide how difficult it is. There will also be car services taking reservations at the terminal for the next morning if you decide to go to Mestre.
