DV vs DW on Royal Princess - any real difference?

When looking at the Royal deck plans on the Princess website, it gives me the choice of sailings before or after May 11, 2019. For some reason, the category of my upcoming Alaska cruise cabin (E405 - Deluxe Obstructed Balcony on the Emerald deck) changes from DV (pre 5/11) to DW (post 5/11). From every description I read, these seem to be identical. Any guesses as to why the category changes? I assume it doesn't really matter, just curious...

Price seems to be a reason frequently.

IMO.......location and a rearranging of category abbreviations as far as I know.

There was also a shuffling of mini designations when Club Class was instituted.
