1/31/2020 14 night cruise on Silhouette.

We've booked the Silhouette for 14 nights next Jan. 31(2020) Some may have seen the cruise "vanish" off websites as of late. This is because(what Celebrity tells us)that the cruise is fully booked. We do expect openings to reoccur when on line TA's are forced to release unsold cabins. We loved our 2 Oceania trips, but yes, the average age is well over 70(we're 64/56). Unfortunately, we've also seen a few non gay friendly pax. Not rude, but obviously not friendly, either. Just wondering if anyone else is on this cruise. Our reason for our past departure from Celebrity was the amazing decline in food quality on the Eclipse in 2017. We're both in the food industry & food quality is a major consideration. On Oceania, all the specialty rest. come with the cost of the cruise. The only exception is Le Reserve, which pairs wine with your meal.

Keith:  Not on your cruise, but we have sailed on Oceania, on the Marina  The quality of the cuisine was the best we have ever found on the sea, almost comparable to a great big city restaurant.  However note that booking in the specialty restaurants can be a bit weird as everyone is trying to grab a table.  We like to dine after 8:00, so we often had no trouble just walking in.  Most of the PAX dined early and went to bed early.  We were happily treated to a dinner in the Reserve by a lovely guy whom we met on CC and the experience was very nice for our small group.  The emphasis on Oceania is on food and you will notice it.  Bon appetit!

We wish that the Riviera had not been chartered for Jan.(McDonalds)Otherwise we'd be on board again in 2020. There is the late Feb. into March 14 nights on Riviera, but it's a mid week to mid week cruise. I really hate having to go back to work the day after we come back. Needless to say the Jan. 14 day trip this past Jan. was outstanding. We did have a couple who refused to dine with us in Jacques. Said the table was too close to the door(load of crap!)we knew why they chose not to sit with us & it was fine by us. That way we can be ourselves & not pretend to please some antigay yokels.
