4 Ships in Port...do I need a reservation?

Hi everyone! I've read so many reviews and topics about the different beach club options in Costa Maya and my head is spinning. We will be in port from 9AM-6PM with three other ships in April. Maya Chan and Jamie's are both booked. I've gotten responses from Nacho's and Almaplena but I cannot figure out if we need to make reservations with one of them or if we should just try to walk up to a place? We are already booked at an AI in Cozumel, so we don't necessarily have to have all those amenities for another day. We just want somewhere that we can get two loungers, some sun and my husband can get some beers without being packed in like sardines. I'd greatly appreciate anyone's input!

You need to make reservations at Almaplena.  They take less guests than Maya Chan.   Nachos is up next to Blue Kay.  Assuming that Blue Kay hasn't fully shifted to Nachos, that' be the better spot to go as it's PAYGO.

Reserving loungers at Tropicante is another option. Or just walk along the malecon until you spot an area that looks comfortable to you.  Ignore the lounge chair hawkers.  IMO, if a club has to hire guys to push their facilities probably not worth going to.

We had reservations last month at Tropicante and loved it.  Great service, good nachos and cheap beer! 😎

We have been  to Tropicante twice and really enjoyed it. Agree about the Nachos...
