Price differential between “you pick” and “we pick” room

I am looking at the possibility of doing a back to back cruise.  The royal suite class has come down in price to make this a possibility for me.  I’m noticing, however, that the “ we pick” rooms are substantially higher than the “you pick” rooms.  If I do a mock booking, the only room I am guaranteed with letting them book is a junior suite gty.  I can pick my own jr. suite for much less.  I would hope that paying more for letting them to choose the room would result in an upgrade and not the same room I could have picked for much less. That would be very disappointing! Does anyone have any experience with this scenario? What was your outcome? Thanks!

That's likely a temporary glitch - GTY rates are usually considerably less.

It's a very rare situation when a guarantee category is priced higher than picking a specific stateroom in that category.  I've only read about it a couple of times here.
