aaalynn1 Posted March 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2019 Where exactly does RCI dock? On the itinerary it says 3 places. We will be docked for 12 hours, but how much can we see in one day?

We will be docked for 12 hours, but how much can we see in one day? The cruise port has several berths - impossible to say at which one RCI will dock. How much you can see in a single day depends on your activity level - cruisers frequently visit Cinque Terre from La Spezia. Lindancer Posted March 30, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2019 And be VERY careful. Pickpockets abound if you are taking the train from La Spezia up to the Cinque Terre villages. Two people in my group were pickpocketed (one was actually clueless enough to use the ATM at the train station) and a German tourist died the day I was there when a gypsy stole her fanny pack and when she chased him, he pushed her onto the train track!
JBare Posted March 31, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2019 You can see an awful lot in 12 hrs (as mentioned, depending on how active you are). Some cruise lines offer trips to Florence or Pisa or both but Cinque Terre is the main attraction here and easily done on your own. Its a fairly easy and pleasant walk to the station to buy a Cinque Terre ticket. Trains are frequent and we did all towns and were back on board in 5 hrs. These are websites I used in my research before doing this. Usual warnings re pickpockets for any tourist trains etc in any major town or city. https://www.incinqueterre.com/en/cinque-terre-in-one-day https://cinqueterreinsider.com/2014/10/16/whats-the-deal-with-the-cinque-terre-card/ https://cinqueterre-travel.com/getting_there/train/
