Safe to book 11:35 am return flight if cruiseship arrive Civitavecchia port @ 5:00 am

I'll be taking on a Celebrity cruise in Sep and planning to book flight now.  Celebrity Edge will return Civitavecchia port at 5:00 am as per schedule.  Understand that it will take an hour for a cab from Civitavecchia to Rome Fiumicino (FCO ) airport.  Can someone confirm if it is save to book a 11:35 am departure international flight ?

You should be fine if you get off the ship by 7am.

Agree...discussed here frequently flights after 10:30 are fine, but you do need to move with a purpose to get off the ship. Cab would be your most expensive transport option. I would arrange a private transfer, pick up at 7:30, at the latest.

There is no train direct from the port to the airport. You must connect somewhere. And given the relative tightness of the OP's timeline, train is NOT recommended for this situation.

We have air with Celebrity and their transfer to airport and our flight time is 10:50. You should have no problems.
