Texting with free wifi?

With the free wifi onboard, can we text for free?  If so, how?  I'm not a computer whiz as you can probably tell.  Thanks.

The direct answer to your question is yes, if your phone supports WiFi calling.  The thread above gives the caveats and some instructions for some phones.
