Christina2019 Posted April 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2019 Does Celebrity Millennium offer any free shuttle to the Bund or Peole Square or anywhere while docking in Shanghai?
Rare Turtles06 Posted April 14, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2019 Welcome to Cruise Critic! Unfortunately, you’ve mistakenly posted in the forum for getting help in using these boards. You need to post your question in the Celebrity forum. You could also ask over in the Ports of Call/Asia forum. Cruise Critic is a great resource. You may want to spend some time browsing through the forums, so you can see what is where.

ebslcc Posted April 15, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2019 I doubt Celebrity will have free shuttle service. I would be interested to know also for our upcoming cruise. I found several great posts on Cruise Critic which lead to a couple of good websites. Looks like the information is good for most Cruise Critic passengers arriving in Shanghai since most International cruise lines docks at the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal. It is also called "Baoshan Cruise Terminal" since it is located at Baoshan District in Shanghai. Per this post taxi's are inexpensive in China. It should cost ~$20 to taxi from the port to downtown. These two websites has good information. Note the 2nd site also has transfer service with 7 or 12 passenger vans or even a big Yutung bus 😀. https://www.chinahighlights.com/shanghai/shanghai-cruise-port.htm http://www.tour-beijing.com/shanghai_travel_guide/wusongkou_international_cruise_terminal/#.XLQcO-hKj4Y http://www.tour-beijing.com/transportation/shanghai_cruise_terminal_transfer/ Note per tour-beijing.com "the port offers free Shuttle Bus (from the terminal to Baoyang Station of Subway Line 3) Waiting Area: Gate 2 or 3 of Incoming Hall and very 15 minutes" So you may be able to save some $ taking the subway? I heard that the subway can be confusing, also tourists should watch out for pickpockets even though "it has gotten better" according to friends who's been there. grmmybtty Posted May 15, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2019 We traveled to Shanghai on the Millenium a few years ago. No shuttle was offered at any port. Be aware that the fog often delays entry into Shanghai and the ship may dock several hours late or not at all. We were scheduled to arrive in the morning but the ship did not dock until 1pm, causing us to miss half the day.
Rare Miaminice Posted May 18, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2019 No shuttle offered. The cruise port is in Baoshan which is about 45 minutes to an hour away from the Bund (depending on time and traffic). Taxis are available at the port and they are pretty inexpensive. The ride into town costs around 25 - 30 USD (CNY cash only). However, Shanghai/Baoshan is known for two things (and we can second that because of our own experiences on different occasions): weather related delays and slow immigration.
