I meant to say that I transferred my CC points to OB credits, nearly, $1.5K, (which I used for shore excursions Health/Msg). This freed me for bidding opportunities. tennisdog

There's 2 Celebrity Suites, 2 royals and about 4 family verandas (I bid on those, originally booked sunset veranda). Oddly the bid price for the Celebrity suite is higher than the Royal even though the Royal is better all around. They’re probably holding out for an outright booking in both our cases, although I’m not sure why the bid for CS is more than for RS… (or why they’re still selling GTY rooms on my sold out cruise but also still accepting bids in all categories?). Keep us posted on your outcome! Edited May 25, 2023 by CruiseTy Grammar

Keep us posted on your outcome! Probably so. But you'd think they'd lower the prices to sell the rooms outright. Nothing makes sense. A sunset veranda (which I initially bought for $1800pp) is now $4100pp and the family veranda (also aft and larger) sells for $2900pp. Royal suite is $7900pp but bids for min $1250pp moveup for me. Celebrity suite is $5800 but bid min is $1500pp. I originally bid $400 (maximum) for FV but after they cut the min by 50% I dropped to $250. It is very odd. I hope I find out soon. Maybe after memorial day weekend. I'm rooting for the Royal Suite but I'll be happy with any of them.

Naptonboy Posted May 29, 2023 #1018 Share Posted May 29, 2023 Starship, you seem to be "up to speed" with this "Move up". We have a cruise on the same day but a different ship, all our bids are "Pending". Is that good or bad?

If the rest of the bids expire and one is pending and locked (as in you can’t change or cancel it) typically that bid is going to be successful. If you give a good bid, you might be lucky. If this is on your bucket list, and you can afford it- go for it! Enjoy your cruise. We have sailed in Celebrity Suites and Royal Suites. Love the Royal suite on the S class with a bath and a half.
Naptonboy Posted May 30, 2023 #1023 Share Posted May 30, 2023 Another question from this "first timer"... We are in an Aqua cabin and are bidding to move into a suite. If one of our bids was successful then that would throw up our cabin for some other bidder (from a lower cabin than Aqua) the chance to "move up". A win win for Celebrity with the monies from two upgrades coming in. So the question... Is the "offer" (the figures on the slider) the same for everybody and are all bidders offered the same upgrade list that we received (all the way to the royal suite)? ben8r Posted May 30, 2023 #1024 Share Posted May 30, 2023 Update from a prior post: Ship: Celebrity Infinity Length of Cruise: 7 days Cruise Sail Date: June 10, 2023 Date email offer received: Never, but I searched moveup and was able to sign up Captain’s Club Tier [“PREVIEW” = first Celebrity Cruise]: Select Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: TA Current Cabin: Sunset Veranda Bid? Yes/No: Yes If YES - Bidding Details: Cabin Category: Family Veranda, Celebrity Suite, Royal Suite Bid Offer: S1: $250, $1520, $1750 Notification Date: None, I just check the moveup website and the status changed today 5/30 Accepted / Rejected: FV and CS: Expired; RS: Pending General Comments (offer details, etc.) I changed my bids A LOT. I wanted a Celebrity Suite or higher as my adult-ish son was a late add on to the trip and wanted some privacy. At minimum a FV would be OK but preferred a suite with separate bedroom. The Celebrity Suite was a higher minimum bid than the Royal Suite, which was weird. And at first I bid $2500pp for RS and $400pp for FV only. But then they had the 50% off minimum bid deal so I lowered the FV bid to $250, bid on CS for $1520 ($1500 was minimum now) and lowered RS to $1750. As of my last check, there were 3 RS rooms, 2 CS and 4 FV.

I think the list and cost changes depending on what level you originally booked. Like if you had an inside cabin, you might not be offered anything higher than a veranda or concierge. And the cost of the concierge would be higher than someone who already has a veranda. Not sure if Captain's Club status makes a difference.
