Pier290 Posted May 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2019 I heard a while back....if your last port/island before your home port is Key West then they make u go through customs in Key West and therefore there's no bother with customs when back to Fort Lauderdale. Is this true? 🍾🌴😎
OT-Miami Posted May 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2019 It is not an option - everyone must go through customs in Key West, whether you disembark or stay onboard. All guests are given a time and location to report to and your seapass card gets punched as proof of clearance. If Key West is the last port there is no further customs requirement, so you just disembark in Fort Lauderdale and go on your way - very easy process.
spammie Posted May 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2019 We have done this twice and both times were in the Sky Lounge and took less then 10 minutes. Loved it! Have a great cruise!
BSinPNS Posted May 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2019 I believe it is immigration. Before the did away with the paper forms, we had to turn them in when we disembarked at the next port - FLL.
cruisead Posted May 3, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2019 It's not Customs, but US Immigration. It's simple and doesn't take long at all. You will have to go through US Customs in FLL, even though they don't have those blue Custom's forms anymore.
RickT Posted May 3, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2019 Took us about 10 minutes to complete the process in March. When we got to Ft Lauderdale nothing to do but pick up our bags and head home, no other customs/immigration.
