As long as they've been linked, they should seat you together.

Wouldn't this be a great perk for VIP that would cost Carnival nothing.  When you bought your cruise, you would be asked how many people you would like at your table:  2, 4, 6, 8 or more.  Similar to the Early or Late dining question.  IF POSSIBLE, you would be assigned to that type of table.  

 

Go for it Carnival!  No charge for the suggestion.  Naturally, I am VIP with 22 completed Carnival cruises and number 23 coming soon.  I have written the Maitre'd on several times with a table size request.  Rare that they respond but usually they do what you request.
