Good Early Morning Mking! Thanks for all the updates and pictures. Looks like the show last night was really good which may make me see a show for once. Hoping for a nice weather day for you, but no matter what the weather you look to be having a great time so keep it up!

Thanks again for all the updates.

Good morning, trying to sleep in a bit longer, arrival is said to be at 11 am local time, doing 17 kts now.

Happy to know that info is helping a few. Satellite WiFi isn't as bad as some said, metering our minutes on the "free" 250 + 40+ 40 package.

Laundry Special is today or tomorrow at $20, ours are free of course. Tonight, we will do Teppanyaki.

Local time is 10 am now, ship coming to full stop at SJ, early arrival. Rain for most of the day, maybe staying onboard.

Got one of my favorite breakfast item.  Today's Specials.

On 4G LTE signal again, yay !! 😁

A little different spot for lunch today, not too busy and fully staffed.

Chatted with quite a few staff that came from the Joy, and all those looked forward to being on a different ship.a7f434e41fd0906c029db190ae1264e5.jpg51a757200eaac5cbd79b96fd8c9e1a48.jpg

Just received this, got Shorex booked for this tender port, and with weather forecasts ahead ... be prepared.

Mandatory US CBP face to face document inspection by group. Going to be interesting to see how it go.

So we need to show both a passport and a Birth Certificate?  That is a bit crazy unless I am reading that incorrectly.

I was wondering the same thing!

Edit:  Looks to me like Passport should suffice.  Per NCL's website:

For Cruises Leaving From a U.S. Port to the Caribbean, Bahamas & Florida, Bermuda, Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Canada & New England, Pacific Coastal

You’re required to carry:

A Valid Passport

OR

Proof of Citizenship (see below) AND Government-issued photo ID

(Baptismal paper, hospital certificates of birth, and Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to 7/1/10 are not acceptable.)

  • State certified U.S. birth certificate
  • Original certificate of U.S. naturalization
  • Original certificate of U.S. citizenship
  • U.S. Consular report of your birth abroad

I had to do this last fall on the Gem.  YES--it was a long line..that snaked through Le Bistro. We were called by deck #s..it did go fairly fast..but I felt bad for those who had independent excursions booked and who did not know about the possible delay.

I ONLY needed key card and passport...have no idea about the wording re: birth certificate...I assume NCL is having one of their usual communication problems!!!

Good thing I've been following this thread ... I had a 10:00 a.m. excursion booked for 5/22 that I just rescheduled.  Silly me ... I thought an 8:00 a.m. arrival time meant you could, like, actually start heading to shore at 8:00 a.m.

Bar Harbor is also a tender port !!!!  So more time involved than just walking off !!!

The document info is poorly worded as we could've embarked with our NYS Enhanced Driver's ID that's compliant with latest CBP regulations but also took along our US passports, and I don't think my original birth certicate will be acceptable. I passed by Guest Services and see a line, hopefully it's not folks freaking out now [emoji849] and asking about [emoji848] it. Given NCL's track record, they will straighten it out somehow, eventually.

But this is a good reminder for a tender port to be careful about independent shorex.

Heading soon to Teppanyaki, we sail at 7 pm with all abroad at 6:30 pm, turning the clock back by 1 hour overnight.f49cf3d9ec7faea68fffea5e82f091bb.jpg

It's 7:02 pm local in SJ, she are still docked, maybe waiting for 2 possibly missing pax, paged by Guest Services 20 minutes ago.

Footnote: 7:10 and we pushed back away from the Pier, going sideway & on the move.  Bye, Canada ... see ya soon.

Just finished a fun & very good dinner.

Looks like rather high tide at the Pier to me.

A few snapshots as we get ready to turn around doing a 180 & head out to sea.  Tomorrow, we will need one of these big lifeboat to tender ashore, once cleared by CBP.  Last time on the Dawn in 2005, this bring back old memories.

Yes, I just asked for a refund on my 9:30 AM excursion.  I told them I would play it by ear.  When I arrive, I'll buy my ticket then.
