RotaryMike Posted May 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2019 If you win a poker tournament on RC, do they issue you a 1099 for the value of the free cruise? Has anyone won? thanx, Mike
neverbeenhere Posted May 11, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2019 Of course, as an honest US citizen, you will claim the FMV of the cruise on your income tax return. Whether or not you receive a 1099 or W2-G.
MightyMike Posted May 11, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2019 Did they ask you for your Social Security number? If so, a 1099 should be on its way.
2Scots Posted May 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2019 We won about 2k on a Slot Pull. They would not give the cash until they had our Passport and SS number. We got a 1099! No getting out of that one!
Jzx1103 Posted May 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2019 (edited) Maybe I didn't understand OP correctly, but I think the OP actually saying he won a free cruise and not cash. I don't think you pay IRS taxes on a free cruise. Otherwise wouldn't we all be getting 1099s on our comped cruises???
