KALCJ1 Posted May 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2019 What happens when you have to switch cabins on a back to back?
gerif Posted May 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2019 The stewards will move your stuff. Just pack whatever isn’t hanging in your suitcases. They will move the other stuff on the hangers. Give your steward a heads up several days before the change.
Reina del Mar Posted May 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2019 We changed cabins on B2B on Liberty. We were told to leave hanging stuff hanging and to pack the rest. Steward would move everything to new cabin. Trying to be helpful we packed everything. Steward has other jobs to do on change over day, so didn't move swiftly enough for us. Didn't want our cases in cabin when next occupants arrived, so we moved our own cases to new cabin. New steward not happy that we'd felt the need to do it ourselves and went to admonish old steward. Not sure if that helps. Having said that first steward did not get additional tips over daily service charge as we'd had to do it ourselves. Second steward went over and above.so he did. ( family had joined in nearby cabin for second cruise, same steward, GD caused a little more mess) You'll get information on what to do on change over day towards end of first cruise. All those doing B2B meet together and are led ashore so the ship can have a 'zero count'. You can choose not to do this by getting off early and treating the day as a normal port day. If enough passengers , there may be a special lunch in one of dining rooms. We got off long enough for the zero count then first boarding group, to enjoy few peaceful hours before masses embarked. I'd contact both stateroom attendants (if different) and confirm with them the process of moving your bags and hanging items.

Good to know...that was my other question. We’ve only done a B2B on Princess and we just sat in a dining room and they scanned our cards. Once done we were free to go about our day, but we had the same cabin. i wasn’t sure how fast we’d get our new room. We have a deck 12 Ocean View Balcony the first week and then a deck 12 Central Park Balcony the 2nd week. (At least for now - Unless something opens up between now & February)

We've had it both ways: they either tell us we have to wait until all staterooms are ready, or they offer to clean our stateroom first and allow us to use it prior to the general opening of all staterooms. We were allowed in the new cabin before they opened up at 1pm...we wanted to hide as we were surprising our family whom we had told we were getting off as we'd booked the previous week by mistake !
