Bringing back wine from Ports of Call in Europe

Our experience has been varied.

For a TA in 2010, each of four couples brought on a case of wine...and delivered wines to the sommelier each night for dinner, and paid corkage.  One couple brought extra for a blind wine tasting in their suite. No issues.

For a Med cruise a few years later, we returned to the ship from many ports with local wine, and had no issue.

On another TA on Reflection, we bought a bunch of Port in Lisbon, and they took it from us, but all was returned at the end of the trip- which was fine, as we didn't intend to drink it on board.

In more recent years, we've been getting the beverage package as a "perk" when booking, so haven't tried at either the beginning of cruises or in ports.

Our biggest issue with "risking it" is that we have to fly immediately after most cruises, so buying liqour would mean that we would have to give it away before returning home...or have one heck of a party on the last night!

Interesting about the connection to the beverage package...next cruise is to Hawaii, though, and Hawaiian wines...ahem...haven't been the best, so no worries there!😁

We are on an upcoming British Isles cruise on the Reflection.  What is Celebrity's policy with regards to bringing back a bottle or two of local wine/cider/beer after a day in port?  I know there is probably a "stated policy" (such as we can bring on two bottles at embarkation AMS), HOWEVER in PRACTICE does anyone have experience with this?

thank you in advance!

We've pretty much never had a problem with it, one exception however, was the last port of call before the sea crossing on a TA, this however was before the beverage packages that they offer now. :)    BTW,   we just returned from  the Reflection Ireland, Scotland, Iceland cruise last week, & it was just incredible :)
