Welp, looks like it's holding steady for the past 2 days. Just went in on 100 shares in my Roth so I can enjoy delicious tax free dividends and eventual onboard credit.

Since it is in the Roth, your dividends are tax free anyway!  Of course, that's where I have my 100 shares myself.

I didn't even know this was possible.  Thanks for mentioning it - I just talked to our financial institution to find out how to accomplish this.  🙂

I just purchased 100 shares at 44.98 this morning with my Roth Ira account.  Should be in time for my Sep HAL cruise. 😁

I am overall optimistic of Carnival's growth in the long run.

And yep, you want to maximize your Roth IRA account.  Any gain is tax free since ROTH fund is after tax money and you already paid tax.

As a general rule use Roth to buy more growth stocks and use traditional ira to buy more mutual funds.

All right, newbie question, and I hope this thread is a good place to ask, but how I do report to HAL and Princess that I have 100 shares?  How do I get my obc?

You have to fax or mail a copy of proof to HAL or Princess.

You are cutting it close, but if you work it, you should be able to get it done.  Here is the direction that applies to this:

"Please provide by fax or by mail your complete legal name, reservation/booking number, ship and sailing date, along with proof of ownership of Carnival Corporation or Carnival plc shares (for example, photocopy of shareholder proxy card, a dividend tax voucher or a current brokerage or nominee statement with your brokerage account number blacked out) no later than 3 weeks prior to your sail date to your travel agent or to the cruise line you have selected below"

Do we need to fax this information in every time we cruise or do they keep the information and apply it each time? We sail August 4, but I did not re-submit the stock ownership information...

Thanks

Thanks

Beth

You need to re-submit the information from a current source for every cruise.

Thank you - I am glad I saw thread this today - I didn’t realize I needed to re-submit. We have a cruise in August and on in December - I just submitted both. Well worth it!

I see they want to increase efficiency and cut costs to address the stock setback. Wonder if we will see the downside as passengers or just reap the benefit on our shares.  I think I know the answer.
