Remembrance Day

11 November this year is a Monday, so there probably won't be any ship wide commemerations. If Sunday 10 November is a sea day, then there will be a interdenominational remembrance service in the theatre.

We were on board QE last year and attended the 100th anniversary commemerations as Remembrance Sunday was a sea day.

By 10:30 the theatre was absolutely full. Before the ceremonies and service began, the side aisles were full. I have never seen so many people in the theatre at any time before.

It was a longer than usual service, very sensitively carried out and very moving.

I was on QM2 last year for the 11th which was also a Sunday.  We sailed from New York that day and the service was held at 7pm in the Theatre.

I have also been on QE2 and they did a flag lowering at the stern at 11am.
