mringenoldus Posted June 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2019 I hope this hasn’t been covered elsewhere, but my husband puts magnets on his cruise cards and keeps them as a collection. We have our first medallion cruise coming up in September (B2B2B on Royal) and he’s concerned there will be no cruise card. Is that true? I also wondered how the medallion impacts the previous need to put your cruise card in the slot machine to store winning and track casino points? Thank you! All he has to do is use his display board as-is to stick his medallions to his collection. The medallions have a magnet built into them & they stick to any metal surface. The last time we sailed on the Royal they were giving out both cards and medallions but they've stopped that. They once said that you could be issued a card in place of the medallion but I don't know how true that actually is. All the machines in the casino have a medallion reader & store your points in your casino account just like the cards used to.
ashhill Posted July 1, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2019 Just off Caribbean Princess, Medallion only. I did see someone open their door with a card, perhaps he asked for one at guest services
phabric Posted July 1, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2019 (edited) The Medallion has a magnet on the back. I have my Medallion on my refrigerator from my March Caribbean Princess Cruise. The Medallion has your name and sail date on it. Edited July 1, 2019 by phabric

He is really grumbling about not getting a darn card 🙂
