cruisekitty22 Posted July 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2019 Would you go on a cruise that stops in the Dominican Republic? Would it be safe to stay to just walk around not getting any food or drink? Pondering going there on the Escape.
zqvol Posted July 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2019 It would certainly be safe on the ship. If you want to go ashore just take water with you. You won't be able to bring any leftover back on board but at least you know where it came from.
Sauer-kraut Posted July 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2019 The ship docks MILES away from where the D.R. is having other tourist issues. Of course go ashore.
Rare shof515 Posted July 4, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2019 (edited) The ship docks in an area called Taino Bay that is located in Puerto Plata. This is a new cruise terminal area being built and from what i read it will be similar to the Amber Cove area that Carnival built years ago. This is suppose to be a l area exclusive for the cruise ship people. the main entrance will be gated and getting access to private tours might be difficult Edited July 4, 2019 by shof515
