We sailed on her when she was brand new in 1985. Hard to believe that when she was launched there were only two cruise ships bigger than her. The Norway and the QE2. She was also our first cruise and started our addiction to cruising! :classic_cool:

My first cruise was on the Holiday August 23, 1986. Having spent time in the Navy, I was not interested in doing a cruise. I went kicking and screaming! Best time I have ever had on a vacation.  I sailed Holiday again six years later and was hooked there after.   34  cruises later, we are already booked for September and planning another. Thank you Holiday!  Two of my best memories are the red English bus outside the casino (at midnight, they would lower the side of the bus and load it with the best ham and Cheese sandwiches for the gamblers) and the bar sold boxes of baked almonds with cinnamon dusted al over (never found them again and any ship, but I am still looking.  Thank you Holiday!

I will miss her always.......

The Holiday was my first cruise.  Had rough seas and was a very unstable ship.  Hard to walk sometimes.  Toilets did not work at times as well as the elevators.  Maybe because of the rocky motion.  Some of the waiters were rude.  Loved being at sea though and enjoy going back on better ships.

Right there with ya.... Sailed Holiday twice in the late 80's/early 90's as a kid... also sailed Celebration once and Jubilee (RIP) twice... Man, in their day those were the most modern, massive, insane things I had ever seen. Really, same could be said for the Fantasy class (and RCI Sovereign class) in the early 90's.

Also have great memories of the Mardi Gras and Tropicale, but those were nooooo Holiday class in terms of late 80's awe.

I wish there were better photo/video tours online of the Holiday class ships. I remember as a kid thinking certain spots were so cool... like the Blue Lagoon aft lounge, that was over the top blue and always felt like it was the coldest part of the ship... i know it later became Doc Holiday's... it's weird the stuff that sticks with you!!
