doones2 Posted July 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2019 We may only have time to visit one fort. Which one would you recommend?
OHRiverRats Posted July 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2019 They're both wonderful, but if I could only do one it would be El Morro

Vol fan Posted July 17, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2019 El Morro is larger, has more beautiful views, the dungeons are more interesting, the whole fort is just more interesting.
piggiepuff Posted November 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2019 Although you've probably already gone, I agree - El Morro.

It's about a 20 minute walk from the piers to the fort, about half of it uphill one one route (moderate, along the base of the city wall), most of it uphill if you take the route across the city (a bit more strenuous). But a short 5-10 minute taxi ride (about $12 for up to 6 passengers) or Uber is also an option.
JosieRhodes Posted January 3, 2020 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) We walked from one fort to another on sidewalk parallel to water. I think it was about a mile or so. Pic of other fort taken from fort. Admission to one fort covers the other. This pic is zoomed a bit but we really enjoyed walking between the two - also go right by La Perla. I actually enjoyed the walk between the forts as much as the forts themselves. Edited January 3, 2020 by JosieRhodes
