TommyD3 Posted July 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2019 There have been several entrees eliminated from the MDR menu this year. One example is the Beef Tournados entree from the first Elegant Chic night menu. The Steak Diane was moved from menu 7 to replace it. Unfortunately the beef quality of the Steak Diane make it inedible. Beef Tournados has been a featured beef dish on the menu for at least 25 years. It has also ALWAYS been excellent. The Veal Cordon Bleu has also been eliminated from menu 7. It was replaced with a Pork Schnitzel. A definite cost savings. The beef quality of ALL beef dishes has dropped significantly. It appears that these are cost savings measures. Unfortunately cruise prices have also risen dramatically !!! When is the cost cutting going to stop ??? 2
AAAAmerican Posted July 30, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2019 Dear TommyD3, Yes we so agree. Ever since the Greek Owned Celebrity line was taken over the Quality, Quantity, and service have gone the way of the favorite car of Thomas Alva Edison's second wife. The Electric Car.. Celebrity used to have the very best food and Professional wait staff a-float. We were always panging like a Pangolin to see what delicous creations were to be shown and served. The real question we all have to ask is; When is the quality returning now?
Stateroom_Sailor Posted July 30, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2019 Watered down soups, missing vegetables, stale bread, pureed corn, beets, or carrots for spread, fatty meats, we didn't find Blu all that much better last April. We heard plenty complain about the MDR and Luminae as well. For lunch we had to load up on salads in the buffet, which was about all that was edible in the Oceanview Cafe. By the end of the cruise, they finally added frozen vegetables, modern luxury at its finest. 1
Cruising89143 Posted August 5, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2019 Thanks for keeping Celebrity an overall great cruise line. We really enjoy all aspects of the cruise line including the MDR.

Food, of course, is very subjective....some folks are "foodies", some are "meat and potatoes",...... We just completed B2B on the Constellation and found none of these issues...and we actually were commenting that the food quality had improved significantly over last year.

Of course conditions on Constellation in July didn't do me much good on Eclipse in April. The negative reviews from April to early June have simmered, so maybe they're listening.
