A question about our upcoming March/06 Volendam cruise...

Do you need some form of adapter or can you use a standard North American plug in the rooms ??? (i.e. battery recharger / electric shaver etc. )

Many tks...D2

Standard outlets just like at home---if "home" is the United States.

Do remember, though, to bring a power strip if you want to have more than one thing plugged in at a time. An extension cord isn't a bad idea, either.

We were just on the Volendam and they had a power strip below the desk for the refrigerator, so there were 5 extra plugs in our cabin. There is only a shaver adapter in the bathroom--no plug in there. The blow dryer in the bathroom starts out slow, but gets hot after a few minutes. I didn't discover the extra hair dryer in a desk drawer until the last day, and it was too late to use it.

Siutes seem to have enough outlets, other cabins do not unless this has been corrected in the SOE upgrades. We always bring a power strip and an extension cord.

Also, if you're not in a suite you may want to take a travel clock along. You can order an automated wake-up call by phone from your cabin.
