Beautiful video which actually makes me a little angry!  Yes, I am an avid cruiser.  Yes, I have cruised in and out of Venice on about a dozen occasions.  And yes, I support the local Venice movement which thinks that large cruise ships (or any other large vessel) should be completely banned from the Giudecca Canal!  Seeing this "wonderful" sail away and how close this monster ship cruises past the city only reinforces my belief that the activists have it right.   There is a lot to love about Venice and we really are not excited about the fact that large vessels are helping to destroy some of this one-of-a-king city.

Yes, as much as I enjoy sailing out of Venice, I agree with your comments.  The city needs to be protected for future generations to enjoy.
