getting around Port of Nassau

Last time we were in Nassau we wondered around the straw market then took a horse and buggy ride. DW has mobility issues . Are wheel chairs or golf carts available to get her to and from the ship to the market area. I think she would like to take our 6 year old granddaughter on the buggy ride, if it is still available

Cruise lines will embark and disembark you in a wheelchair but that's all. If you want a wheelchair or scooter for onboard use, you need to rent one in advance from a company like scootaround.com or specialneedsatsea.com. That being said, the port area at Nassau is not that accessible friendly

I think what you are asking, is that you would like to have the cruiseline supply a means to get DW from the ship to an area off the ship.  If this is what you are asking, the answer is no.   You will need to rent a scooter (and have an accessible room to store it in), or rent a collapsible wheelchair for you to push off the ship and around the area.

Check out  https://www.specialneedsatsea.com/ for rental information.   They deliver directly onboard most ships at most ports.

At some other ports, San Juan and Falmouth for instance, golf carts are available for rides from the ship to the end of the pier and back. We will already have a scooter rented, but what do we do with the scooter when we are doing some sort of activity, such as a buggy ride
